DESCRIPTION

· The 74HC85; 74HCT85 is a 4-bit magnitude comparator expandable to any length.

· It compares two 4-bit binary, BCD, or monotonic codes, providing three magnitude outputs (QA>B, QA=B, QA

· Inputs A0-A3 and B0-B3 are weighted, with A3 and B3 as the most significant bits.

· Expander inputs (IA>B, IA=B, IAB = LOW, IA=B = HIGH.

· Units can be cascaded for words greater than 4-bits by connecting outputs to the next comparator's inputs.

· Inputs include clamp diodes, allowing current limiting resistors for voltages exceeding VCC.
