DESCRIPTION



· The 74LVC161284 is a high-speed, low-voltage IEEE 1284 transceiver designed for bidirectional parallel communication between personal computers and printing peripherals.
· It integrates eight high-speed non-inverting bidirectional buffers and eleven control/status non-inverting buffers with open-drain outputs, fabricated using silicon gate C2MOS technology.
· The device supports IEEE Std 1284-I (Level 1 Type) and IEEE Std 1284-II (Level 2 Type) standards, enabling Extended Capabilities Port Mode (ECP).
· It features a translation capability allowing interfacing with 5V signals and includes integrated pull-up resistors on all open-drain outputs, eliminating the need for discrete resistors.
· The 74LVC161284 can replace the functionality of two 74LVC1284 devices.



FEATURES



· High-speed operation with a propagation delay (tPD) of 9ns (max) at VCC=3V.
· Low power dissipation with ICC=20µA (max) at VCC=3.6V and TA=85°C.
· TTL-compatible inputs with VIH=2V (min) and VIL=0.8V (max).
· Operating voltage range from 3.0V to 3.6V.
· A port features standard 4mA totem-pole output, while B port supports high drive source/sink capability of 14mA.
· HD input enables switching from open-drain to high-drive totem-pole output, capable of sourcing 14mA on all thirteen buffers and 84mA on the PERI LOGIC OUTPUT buffer.
· DIR input controls the direction of data flow on bidirectional buffers.
