DESCRIPTION

· The AD808 is a fiber optic receiver integrating data quantization, signal level detection, clock recovery, and data retiming for 622 Mbps NRZ data.
· Designed for use with a PIN diode/preamplifier, it offers a highly integrated, low-cost, low-power solution for SONET OC-12 or SDH STM-4 fiber optic receivers.
· Features a signal level detect circuit with adjustable threshold and 3 dB optical hysteresis to prevent output chatter.

FEATURES

· Complies with CCITT G.958 for STM-4 Regenerator—Type A and Bellcore TR-NWT-000253 for OC-12.
· Output jitter of 2.5 degrees RMS.
· Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) clock recovery without the need for a crystal.
· Quantizer sensitivity of 4 mV with a programmable level detect range from 10 mV to 40 mV.
· Operates on a single supply of +5 V or –5.2 V, consuming 400 mW.
· 10 KH ECL/PECL compatible output in a 16-Lead Narrow 150 mil SOIC package.
