DESCRIPTION
· The AS8221 is a high-speed automotive bus driver compliant with the FlexRay Electrical Physical Layer Specification V2.1 Rev B.
· It serves as a bi-directional interface between the FlexRay Communication Controller and twisted-pair copper wiring.
· Features three low-active pins: Enable (EN), Standby (STBN), and Error (ERRN) for mode handling and error signaling.
· Supports NORMAL, RECEIVE-ONLY, STANDBY, SLEEP, and POWER-OFF modes for various operational and power-saving needs.
· Includes a thermal sensor with shutdown mechanism and symmetrical transient control for optimal EMC performance.

· Compliant with FlexRay Electrical Physical Layer Specification V2.1 Rev B.
· Data transfer up to 10 Mbps with excellent EMC and EMI performance.
· Interface for Bus Guardian or supervision circuits.
· Automatic thermal shutdown protection and integrated power management system.
· Supports 12V and 24V systems with low sleep current and protection against short circuit conditions.
· Operates in a temperature range of -40ºC to +125ºC in a lead-free SSOP20 package.
