DESCRIPTION
· The AS8506C is a battery management IC designed for Li-Ion battery stacks in industrial, consumer, and PV applications.
· It supports cell voltage measurement, monitoring, balancing, and temperature measurement.
· Operates in an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
FEATURES
· 12-bit SAR ADC for fast cell voltage capture.
· Passive cell balancing with integrated switches and external resistor.
· Active balancing option (AS8506C A) with external DC-DC Flyback converter.
· Temperature measurement via two external NTC sensors using 12-bit ADC.
· Supports battery stacks up to 7 cells (6V to 32V).
· Can be chained for synchronized mode to support larger battery packs.
· Communicates battery status via OR’d voltage_ok and balance ready signals.
