DESCRIPTION

· The AS8530 is a versatile companion IC designed for sensor and actuator LIN slaves in automotive applications, integrating a LIN transceiver and a low-drop voltage regulator.
· It features a 2-wire microcontroller interface for accessing a window watchdog, control registers, backup registers, and monitoring information.
· Built with high-voltage CMOS technology, it can withstand up to 42V and is available in an ep-SOIC8 package.

FEATURES

· Operates within a voltage range of 6V to 18V.
· Includes a linear, low-drop voltage regulator with factory-programmable options for 5V ±5% or 3.3V ±5%.
· Supports a load current of up to 50mA.
· Offers operating modes: Normal and Standby or Normal and Sleep.
· Features low quiescent current: 45µA in standby mode and 35µA in sleep mode.
· Equipped with an under-voltage reset, LIN bus transceiver compliant with LIN 2.1, and safety features like TX timeout, over-temperature warning, and shutdown.
· Includes a window watchdog, a 2-wire microcontroller interface, and 8 backup registers for data storage during VCC shutdown.
· Designed for ambient operating temperatures from -40ºC to +125ºC.
