DESCRIPTION
· The AS8530 is a versatile companion IC designed for sensor and actuator LIN slaves in automotive applications.
· It integrates a LIN transceiver and a low-drop voltage regulator, supporting a 2-wire microcontroller interface.
· The IC is built using high-voltage CMOS technology, capable of withstanding up to 42V, and comes in an ep-SOIC8 package.
FEATURES
· Operates within a voltage range of 6V to 18V.
· Features a linear, low-drop voltage regulator with options for 5V ±5% or 3.3V ±5%.
· Supports a load current of up to 50mA.
· Offers operating modes: Normal and Standby or Normal and Sleep.
· Quiescent current of 45µA in standby mode and 35µA in sleep mode.
· Includes an under-voltage reset feature.
· LIN bus transceiver compliant with LIN 2.1, with TX timeout fail-safe, over-temperature warning, and shutdown.
· Window watchdog feature if factory-enabled.
· 2-wire microcontroller interface for watchdog trigger, monitoring, and register access.
· Includes Chip ID for traceability and Module ID.
· 8 backup registers for data retention during VCC shutdown.
· Operates in ambient temperatures from -40ºC to +125ºC.
