Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The HC280 and HCT280 are high-speed CMOS logic devices designed as 9-bit odd/even parity generator/checkers. They provide both even and odd parity outputs for checking or generating parity for words up to nine bits long. Parity checking for larger words can be achieved by cascading additional HC/HCT280 devices.



FEATURES

· Typical Propagation Delay: 17ns at VCC = 5V, CL = 15pF, TA = 25°C
· Replaces LS180 types and is easily cascadable
· Fanout: Standard outputs support 10 LSTTL loads; Bus driver outputs support 15 LSTTL loads
· Wide Operating Temperature Range: -55°C to 125°C
· Balanced Propagation Delay and Transition Times
· Significant Power Reduction compared to LSTTL Logic ICs
· HC Types: Operates from 2V to 6V with high noise immunity (NIL = 30%, NIH = 30% of VCC at VCC = 5V)
· HCT Types: Operates from 4.5V to 5.5V with direct LSTTL input logic compatibility (VIL = 0.8V Max, VIH = 2V Min) and CMOS input compatibility (Il ≤ 1µA at VOL, VOH)



APPLICATIONS

· Suitable for systems requiring parity generation or checking in data transmission and storage
· Ideal for use in environments with a wide temperature range and high noise immunity requirements
· Can be used in cascaded configurations for parity checking of data words longer than 9 bits
