DESCRIPTION

· The HX3 is a family of USB 3.0 hub controllers compliant with USB 3.0 specification revision 1.0, supporting SuperSpeed, Hi-Speed, Full-Speed, and Low-Speed on all ports.

· It features integrated termination, pull-up, and pull-down resistors, with configuration options via pin-straps to reduce system BOM.

· Includes proprietary features like Shared Link™ for extra downstream ports in embedded applications and Ghost Charge™ for device charging without a host connection.

FEATURES

· USB-IF Certified Hub with TID# 330000060, 30000074, supporting up to four USB 3.0-compliant downstream ports.

· All ports support SuperSpeed (5 Gbps) and are backward-compatible with Hi-Speed (480 Mbps), Full-Speed (12 Mbps), and Low-Speed (1.5 Mbps).

· Features include SS and USB 2.0 Link Power Management, dedicated Hi-Speed Transaction Translators, and LED status indicators.

· Enhanced Battery Charging compliant with USB Battery Charging v1.2, supporting Apple charging on all downstream ports.

· Integrated ARM® Cortex™-M0 CPU with 16 KB RAM and 32 KB ROM, configurable GPIOs, and firmware upgrade options via I2C EEPROM or external I2C master.

· Extensive configuration support via pin-strap, eFuse, I2C EEPROM, or I2C slave, including SS and USB 2.0 PHY parameters, product ID, and manufacturer string descriptors.

· Software features include Microsoft WHQL certification for Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1, compatibility with Mac OS 10.9 and Linux kernel version 3.11, and customizable configuration parameters with Cypress’s “Blaster Plus” software tool.

· Flexible packaging options include 68-pin QFN, 88-pin QFN, 100-ball BGA, and industrial temperature range (–40 °C to +85 °C).
