DESCRIPTION

· The STLC7550 is a single-chip Analog Front-end (AFE) designed for modems up to 56Kbps.
· It is optimized for host processing applications where modulation software is handled by main processors like Pentium, RISC, or DSP.
· Ideal for standalone devices such as Handheld PCs, PDAs, Webphones, Network Computers, and Set-Top Boxes.
· Operates nominally at 3V, with a maximum power dissipation of 30mW, suitable for battery operations.
· Includes a clock generator for V.34bis and 56Kbps applications.
· Can be used in master or slave mode, facilitating multi-AFE architecture designs.

· General-purpose signal processing AFE.
· 16-bit oversampling Σ∆ A/D and D/A converters.
· 83dB signal-to-noise ratio at up to 9.6kHz sampling frequency @ 3V.
· 87dB dynamic range @ 3V.
· Filter bandwidths: 0.425 x the sampling frequency.
· On-chip reference voltage.
· Single power supply range: 2.7 to 5.5V.
· Low power consumption: less than 30mW operating power @ 3V.
· Stand-by mode power consumption: less than 3mW @ 3V.
· Maximum sampling frequency: 45kHz.
· Synchronous serial interface for processor data exchange.
· 0.50µm CMOS process.
· TQFP48 package.
· STLC7546 mode of operation compatible.
