DESCRIPTION
· The SMSC EMC6W201 is an auto fan control device designed for multi-processor systems, featuring piecewise linear control, temperature monitoring, and voltage monitoring. It operates at 3.3V with 5V tolerant input buffers and includes an SMBus 2.0 compliant interface with three slave address options.
FEATURES
· Auto-Fan Control with ProcHot features including PWM outputs, low and high frequency PWM options, fan tachometer or lock rotor inputs, and programmable automatic fan control based on temperature.
· Temperature monitoring of up to five remote thermal diodes with ±3°C accuracy, internal ambient temperature measurement, and limit comparison with interrupt pin for out-of-limit indication.
· Voltage monitoring of power supplies with limit comparison and interrupt pin for out-of-limit voltage indication.
· ProcHot input/bi-directional pins, power good output, SMBus alert interrupt output, and register characteristics with individual enables/disables for each input.
· Available in a 36-pin QFN, lead-free RoHS compliant package.
