DESCRIPTION

· The FDC2x1x is a multi-channel, high-resolution capacitance-to-digital converter designed for capacitive sensing applications. It employs a resonant sensing architecture that maintains performance even under fluorescent light, offering high noise rejection and resolution. The device supports a wide excitation frequency range, making it suitable for sensing conductive liquids and remote sensors. It is optimized for applications requiring high resolution or fast sample rates, with a maximum input capacitance of 250nF.



FEATURES

· EMI-resistant architecture ensures reliable operation in noisy environments.
· High output rates: 13.3kSPS (FDC2112, FDC2114) and 4.08kSPS (FDC2212, FDC2214).
· Maximum input capacitance of 250nF at 10kHz with a 1mH inductor.
· Sensor excitation frequency range from 10kHz to 10MHz.
· Supports 2 or 4 channels with resolution up to 28 bits.
· Low system noise floor: 0.3fF at 100SPS.
· Operates on a supply voltage of 2.7V to 3.6V with active power consumption of 2.1mA.
· Features low-power sleep mode (35µA) and shutdown mode (200nA).
· I2C interface and temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
