DESCRIPTION

· The SHARP GP2W0004YP is a compact IrDA transceiver module with a wide operating voltage range, designed for one-meter wireless data links.
· It integrates an EMI shield for enhanced protection in noisy environments like PCs and digital products.
· The module includes a high-speed AlGaAs LED, a silicon PIN photodiode, and a low-power bipolar IC, supporting IrDA data rates from 2.4 kbit/s to 115.2 kbit/s.
· It features a dual-mode communication capability, with emitter currents of 100 mA for one-meter range and 27 mA for low-power mode.
· The LED voltage is separate, allowing flexible power supply configurations.
· An integral echo-cancel function disables RX Data Output during TX LED activity, and a built-in shutdown mode reduces current consumption to 1 µA (MAX.).
