DESCRIPTION

· The HLC2705 detector is a monolithic IC designed to sense speed and direction of mechanical motion.

· It consists of two narrow adjacent photodiodes, amplifier stages, and quadrature logic providing two outputs.

· The tachometer output is an NPN collector, internally connected to VÙÙ through a 10 kì resistor.

· The direction output is a totem-pole configuration, both capable of directly driving TTL loads.

· The sensor includes sensitivity compensation circuitry for the output power versus temperature characteristic of an IRED.

· Encapsulated in a molded, unlensed black plastic package transmissive to IR energy, yet provides shielding from visible light.
