DESCRIPTION

· The HSDL-7002 modulates and demodulates electrical pulses from HSDL-3201 IrDA transceiver module and other IrDA compliant transceivers.

· It interfaces with a microcontroller/microprocessor with a UART, selecting the baud rate prior to communication.

· Contains SIR Encode and SIR Decode state machines and a Clock Divide block for internal signal synthesis.

· Operates in Internal or External Clock Mode, requiring an external crystal only in Internal Clock Mode.

· Supports data transmission in standard 3/16 modulation mode or 1.63 µs pulse mode.

FEATURES

· Fully compliant with IrDA Physical Layer Specification 1.4, supporting speeds from 9.6 kbit/s to 115.2 kbit/s (SIR).

· Interfaces with IrDA compliant IR transceivers.

· Compact 16-pin QFN package with dimensions of 4.0 mm x 4.0 mm x 0.8 mm.

· Compatible with standard 16550 UART.

· Supports 1.63 µs or 3/16 pulse mode for transmission/reception.

· Operates at 2.7 – 5.5 V, lead-free and green product.
