DESCRIPTION

· The IQS7221E ProxFusion® IC is a sensor fusion device designed for on-axis rotation and angle sensing applications.
· It includes a ProxFusion® channel for integrated UI applications and two dedicated quadrature outputs, making it a drop-in replacement for mechanical and optical rotary encoders.
· The device features a virtual freewheel UI for intuitive scrolling.



FEATURES

· Highly flexible ProxFusion® device with Hall effect angle sensor.
· Supports on-axis orientation with 16-bit absolute angle output and <1° resolution.
· Detects movement and direction with a wide operational range.
· Includes Automatic Tuning Implementation (ATI) and automatic synchronization with mechanical ratchets.
· ProxFusion® channel supports self-capacitive or mutual-capacitive sensors with ultra-low power wake-up on touch.
· Internal voltage regulator and no external components required for Hall measurements.
· I2C Interface with IRQ line and PC software for debugging and configuration.
· Multiple integrated UIs including proximity and touch events, proximity wake-up, and virtual freewheel UI.
· Supply voltage range from 2 V to 3.5 V.
· Available in small packages: WLCSP18 (1.62 × 1.62 × 0.5 mm) and QFN20 (3 × 3 × 0.5 mm).
