DESCRIPTION

· The IRS2158D(S) is an integrated circuit combining ballast control and half-bridge driver functionalities.

· It is designed for advanced control in fluorescent lamp ballast applications, featuring programmable settings for various operational parameters.

FEATURES

· Programmable half-bridge over-current protection, preheat frequency, preheat time, ignition ramp, run frequency, and deadtime.

· Closed-loop ignition current regulation and a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO).

· Includes an end-of-life window comparator pin, internal 60-event current sense up/down fault counter, and lamp removal/auto-restart shutdown pin.

· Features brownout protection, low offset op amp, internal bootstrap MOSFET, and internal 15.6 V zener clamp diode on Vcc.

· Micropower startup (250 μA) with latch immunity and ESD protection.

APPLICATIONS

· Primarily used in fluorescent lamp ballast dimming applications with a dimming capability of less than 5%.
