Description

The L7812CV-DG is a part of the L78 series of three-terminal positive voltage regulator ICs. It is available in various packages including TO-220, TO-220FP, D²PAK, and DPAK. These regulators provide local on-card regulation, eliminating distribution issues associated with single point regulation. They embed internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe area protection, making them robust. With adequate heat sinking, they can deliver over 1 A output current. Although primarily fixed voltage regulators, these devices can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltage and currents.
