Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The LS7766 is a 32-bit single-axis/dual-axis quadrature counter designed for direct interface with incremental encoders.
· It features two identical modules of 32-bit programmable up/down counters with various configurable count modes.
· The device includes read/write registers for count and I/O modes, digital comparators, and status registers for each axis.
· It supports a wide operating voltage range from 3V to 5.5V and is available in multiple configurations with different bus options.



FEATURES

· Direct interface with incremental encoders.
· Multiple count modes: non-quadrature (Up/Down), quadrature (x1, x2, x4), free-run, non-recycle, modulo-n, and range limit.
· Programmable IOs for Index and Marker Flags.
· Separate mode-control registers for each axis.
· High count frequency: 40MHz at 5V and 20MHz at 3V.
· Digital filtering of input quadrature clocks for noise immunity.
· Pin-selectable 3-state 16-bit/8-bit bus.
· Available in four configurations: DH, DO, SH, and SO.
