Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The M74HC4538 is a high-speed CMOS monostable multivibrator fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology.

· It features both negative and positive edge-triggered inputs, which can also function as inhibit inputs.

· Includes a clear input that resets the one-shot when taken low.

· The multivibrator is retriggerable, allowing repeated triggering during output pulse generation, extending the pulse.

· Output pulse width stability is maintained over a wide range of temperatures and supply voltages using linear CMOS techniques.

· The output pulse equation is PW = 0.7 (R)(C), where PW is in seconds, R in Ohms, and C in Farads.

· All inputs are protected against static discharge and transient excess voltage.



FEATURES

· High speed: tPD = 25 ns (typical) at VCC = 6V.

· Low power dissipation: Standby state ICC = 4µA (max) at TA = 25°C; Active state ICC = 200µA (typical) at VCC = 6V.

· High noise immunity: VNIH = VNIL = 28% VCC (min).

· Symmetrical output impedance: |IOH| = IOL = 4mA (min).

· Balanced propagation delays: tPLH ≅ tPHL.

· Wide operating voltage range: VCC (OPR) = 2V to 6V.

· Wide output pulse width range: tWOUT = 120 ns ~ 60 s at VCC = 4.5V.

· Pin and function compatible with 74 series 4538.
