DESCRIPTION

· The MP5021B is a hot-swap protection device safeguarding output circuitry from input transients and input from output shorts and transients.
· It limits inrush current at start-up via an external capacitor at SS controlling the slew rate.
· Utilizes a sense FET topology for current limiting, adjustable by a resistor from ISET to ground.
· Features an internal charge pump enabling a power FET with a 7 mΩ on-resistance.
· Includes IMON for current monitoring, adjustable by a resistor from IMON to ground.
· Offers optional discharge function for external output capacitor when disabled.
· Provides fault protections like current-limit, thermal shutdown, and damaged MOSFET detection with auto-retry and latch-off modes.
· Equipped with over-voltage and under-voltage protection.
· Available in a 3mm x 5mm QFN package.
