DESCRIPTION

· The PI3VST01 is a Hot Plug Detect (HPD) signal generator designed for VGA connectors.

· It generates a monitor detection signal to inform the VGA source if an external monitor is connected.

· This allows notebook makers to power down the VGA DAC when a monitor is not connected, saving 170 mW per DAC.

· The device itself consumes only 0.66 mW and does not interfere with the normal operation of the video driver.

FEATURES

· Generates HPD signal for VGA connectors.

· Operates with 3.3V and 5.0V power supplies.

· ESD tolerance on pin 7 up to +/-4kV contact per IEC61000-4-2.

· -3dB bandwidth of 1.7GHz (typical).

· On resistance of 4.75 Ohm with 0.5 Ohm flatness (typical).

· Low input/output capacitance (Con = 4.5pF, typical).

· Available in Pb-free and Green 8-contact MSOP packaging.
