· The S1D13709 is a versatile graphics/text LCD controller with a 32 KB embedded SRAM display buffer.

· It supports both TFT and STN panels, with a TFT interface capable of handling up to WVGA panels.

· Fully compatible with the S1D13700 register set, facilitating easy migration from STN to TFT panel systems.

· Features layered text and graphics, multi-directional scrolling, and display partitioning into multiple screens.

· Manages display controller functions including data transfer, memory reading, data conversion, and timing signal generation.

· Embedded 32 KB display buffer for storing text, character codes, and bit-mapped graphics.

· Direct and indirect CPU interfaces with an 8-bit data bus width.

· Supports 4-bit STN/TFT LCDs with example resolutions like 640x240@1bpp, 320x240@2bpp, and 240x160@4bpp.

· Low power consumption with color/gray shade support for 1/2/4 bpp.

· Includes 160, 5x7 pixel characters in CGROM and up to 256, 8x16 pixel characters in CGRAM.

· Offers overlapping screens (up to 3), a programmable cursor, and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
