Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The STMPE16M31 and STMPE24M31 are capacitive touchkey controllers with versatile sensing capabilities.

· They integrate up to 24 capacitive sensing channels, offering high sensitivity and noise tolerance.

· Two ratiometric engines enable slider/wheel implementation without external computations.

· Eight PWM controllers allow control of up to 16 LEDs with brightness, ramping, and blinking features.

· The I2C interface supports up to 400 kHz communication with the host system.

· A wide dynamic range eliminates the need for hardware tuning in most applications.

· The STMPE24M31 can implement a complete notebook multimedia control bar with touchkeys, a slider, and LEDs.



FEATURES

· Up to 24 capacitive sensor inputs with 15 fF resolution and 512 steps.

· Independent and configurable automatic calibration on all channels.

· Supports up to 30 pF external reference capacitor.

· Two 8-input ratiometric engines for 256-step slider/wheel functionality.

· Up to 16 GPIOs and 8 independent PWM controllers with 12 mA sourcing/sinking capability.

· Operating voltage: 1.65-1.95 V (VCC) and 2.7-5.5 V (VIO).

· Low operating current: 400 µA (active), 50 µA (sleep), 5 µA (hibernate).

· I2C interface with 3.3 V tolerance and 8 kV HBM ESD protection on sensing pins.
