DESCRIPTION

· The TFDU6108 is an infrared transceiver module compliant with the latest IrDA standard, supporting speeds up to 4.0 Mbit/s and carrier-based remote control modes up to 2 MHz.

· It integrates a PIN photodiode, an infrared emitter (IRED), and a low-power CMOS control IC, providing a complete front-end solution in a single package.

· The module is compliant with the IrDA "Serial Interface Standard for Transceiver Control" and can directly interface with various I/O devices.

· Requires only a VCC bypass capacitor as an external component, with an optional resistor for limiting internal power dissipation.

· Operates with logic I/O voltages as low as 1.5 V.

· Fully specified for 3.0 V and 5.0 V applications, operational down to 2.6 V.

· High-efficiency emitter and eye safety class 1 (IEC60825-1, ed. 2001).

· Built-in EMI protection, including GSM bands, with immunity > 300 V/m.

· Few external components required, pin-to-pin compatible with legacy Vishay Semiconductor SIR and FIR infrared transceivers.

· Split power supply capability, compliant with IrDA EMI and background light specifications.

· Lead (Pb)-free device, compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96EC.
