DESCRIPTION

· The TFDU8108 is a low-power infrared transceiver module compliant with the IrDA physical layer standard for VFIR data communication up to 16 Mbit/s.

· It integrates a PIN photodiode, an infrared emitter (IRED), and a low-power control IC, requiring only a Vcc bypass capacitor externally.

· Operates with logic I/O voltages as low as 1.8 V and supports carrier-based remote control modes up to 2 MHz.

FEATURES

· Compliant with IrDA, HP-SIR, Sharp ASK, and TV Remote Control standards.

· Surface mount package (9.7 x 4.7 x 4.0 mm³) suitable for side and top view applications.

· Operating supply voltage range from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, compatible with logic levels between 1.8 V and 5 V.

· Low power consumption with 2 mA idle supply current and 1 µA shutdown current.

· Built-in EMI protection and eye safety class 1 compliance (IEC60825-1, ed. 2001).

· Lead (Pb)-free device, compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.
