DESCRIPTION

· The U479B is a monolithic integrated bipolar circuit designed for monitoring lamp failure in automobiles.

· It features a comparator threshold matched to the PTC characteristic of incandescent lamps.

· The output is controlled based on the voltage drop across a shunt resistor, turning off if the drop exceeds 8 mV.

· The output is also turned off without supply voltage or if the input pin 8 is open.

· Unused comparator inputs must be connected to pin 7.
