DESCRIPTION

· The VSC7323 (Meigs™-IIe) is a versatile building block for high-density Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10 GbE applications in Enterprise, Metro, and Core networks.

· It integrates 10 triple-speed MACs with SerDes, a 10 GbE MAC with XAUI, an SPI-4.2 interface, a configurable CPU interface, and dual MII Management interfaces.

· It supports seamless connection to 10 Gbps optical modules and provides reliable data transfer in high loss, high distortion environments.

FEATURES

· Implemented in low power 0.18 micron CMOS technology with 2.5V/3.3V IO.

· Operates in industrial temperature range (-40ºC to +85ºC).

· Includes a standard 5-Pin P1149.1 JTAG Test Port.

· Packaged in a 728-pin TBGA.

· Supports IEEE 802.3ae-compliant 10 GbE MAC with pad insertion, CRC generation, and Ethernet framing.

· Features programmable pre-emphasis and equalization for reliable data transfer.

· Provides configurable ingress and egress FIFOs for flow control and bursty traffic handling.

· Includes a 16-bit SPI-4.2 interface for seamless data transfer to network processors and other devices.

· Offers a configurable CPU interface for connection to PowerPC™ and Intel™ microprocessors.

· Integrates two MII Management interfaces for PHY device management.
