DESCRIPTION

· The Z16C32 IUSC™ is an Integrated Universal Serial Controller designed for multiprotocol data communications, featuring on-chip dual-channel DMA to enhance data throughput.

FEATURES

· Equipped with two full-capacity 20 MHz DMA channels supporting 32-bit addressing and 16-bit data transfers.
· Includes multiple DMA modes such as Single Buffer, Pipelined, Array-Chained, and Linked-Array Chained.
· Features a Ring Buffer for circular queue management and Linked Frame Status Transfer for simplified frame processing.
· Supports programmable DMA bus throttling and a full-duplex channel up to 20 Mbit/sec with dual baud rate generators.
· Offers 32-byte FIFOs for both receiver and transmitter, and up to 12.5 MByte/sec data bus bandwidth.
· Multiprotocol operation with independent mode selection for receiver and transmitter, supporting Async, HDLC/SDLC, Byte Oriented Synchronous, and Transparent Bisync modes.
· Flexible bus interface compatible with most microprocessors, including 680X0 and 8X86 families.
· Includes an 8-bit general-purpose port with transition detection and low power CMOS technology.
· Packaged in a 68-Pin PLCC with support for electronic programmer's manual and software drivers.
