Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The 74VHCT257A is a high-speed CMOS QUAD 2-CHANNEL MULTIPLEXER (3-STATE) fabricated using sub-micron silicon gate and double-layer metal wiring C2MOS technology.

· It consists of four independent 2-channel multiplexers with common SELECT and ENABLE INPUT (OE).

· The device is a non-inverting multiplexer, with outputs entering a high impedance state when the ENABLE INPUT is "High".

· "A" data is selected when SELECT INPUT is "Low", and "B" data is chosen when SELECT INPUT is "High".

· It features power down protection on all inputs and outputs, accepting 0 to 7V on inputs regardless of the supply voltage.

· Suitable for interfacing 5V to 3V systems, with all inputs equipped with TTL threshold.

· Provides 2KV ESD immunity and transient excess voltage protection on all inputs and outputs.



FEATURES

· High-speed operation with a typical propagation delay (tPD) of 4.8 ns at VCC = 5V.

· Low power dissipation with a maximum ICC of 4 µA at TA=25°C.

· Compatible with TTL outputs: VIH = 2V (MIN.), VIL = 0.8V (MAX).

· Symmetrical output impedance: |IOH| = IOL = 8 mA (MIN).

· Balanced propagation delays: tPLH ≅ tPHL.

· Operating voltage range: VCC(OPR) = 4.5V to 5.5V.

· Pin and function compatible with 74 Series 257.

· Improved latch-up immunity.

· Low noise: VOLP = 0.8V (MAX.).
