Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The BQ2409x series are highly integrated Li-ion and Li-Pol linear chargers for space-limited portable applications.

· They operate from either a USB port or AC adapter, supporting a high input voltage range with overvoltage protection.

· The devices feature a single power output for battery charging, allowing a system load in parallel with the battery.

· Charging occurs in three phases: conditioning, constant current, and constant voltage, with internal temperature monitoring to adjust charge current.



FEATURES

· 1% charge voltage accuracy and 10% charge current accuracy.

· Pin-selectable USB input current limits of 100-mA and 500-mA.

· Programmable termination and precharge thresholds.

· Protection features include 6.6-V overvoltage protection, thermal regulation at 125°C, and shutdown at 150°C.

· OUT short-circuit protection and ISET short detection.

· Operates over JEITA range via battery NTC, with a fixed 10-hour safety timer.

· Automatic Termination and Timer Disable Mode (TTDM) for absent battery pack with thermistor.

· Status indication for charging/done, available in a 10-pin MSOP package.
