DESCRIPTION

· The DS34S132 is a 32-Port TDM-over-Packet IC compliant with IETF PWE3 SAToP/CESoPSN/HDLC standards.

· It translates TDM data streams into TDM-over-Packet data streams for various network protocols including L2TPv3/IP, UDP/IP, MPLS, and Metro Ethernet.

· Supports up to 32 TDM ports with bit rates from 64Kbps to 2.048Mbps, configurable into 256 pseudowires over a 100/1000Mbps Ethernet port.

· Includes a built-in time-slot assignment circuit for combining time slots from a single TDM port into a single pseudowire.

· 32 independent TDM ports with serial data, clock, and sync capabilities.

· One 100/1000Mbps Ethernet MAC interface.

· Supports up to 256 pseudowires with any combination of TDMoP and/or HDLC pseudowires.

· Features 0, 1, or 2 VLAN tags (IEEE 802.1Q) and synchronous or asynchronous TDM port timing.

· Includes clock recovery engines and supports various clock recovery techniques.

· 32 HDLC/CES engines with or without CAS signaling and supports any data rate from 64Kbps to 2.048Mbps.

· 32-bit or 16-bit CPU processor bus and DDR SDRAM interface.

· Low-power design with 1.8V core, 3.3V I/O, and 2.5V SDRAM.
