DESCRIPTION

· The GS1531 is a multi-standard serializer with an integrated cable driver, compatible with HD-SDI, SD-SDI, and DVB-ASI applications.

· It features an internal PLL configurable for loop bandwidth as narrow as 100kHz, tolerating over 300ps jitter on the input PCLK.

· The device performs NRZ-to-NRZI encoding and scrambling in SMPTE mode, and inserts K28.5 sync characters with 8b/10b encoding in DVB-ASI mode.

· It supports 10-bit multiplexed or 20-bit demultiplexed formats at HD and SD signal rates, with an integrated cable driver offering output mute, high impedance mode, adjustable signal swing, and dual slew rate selection.

· Additional features include automatic standards detection, EDH support, TRS signal insertion, line number and CRC calculation, illegal code remapping, and SMPTE 352M payload identifier packet insertion.

FEATURES

· Compliant with SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 259M-C standards, including scrambling and NRZ → NRZI encoding (with bypass).

· Supports DVB-ASI sync word insertion and 8b/10b encoding.

· Rejects over 300ps jitter on the input PCLK.

· User-selectable processing features: CRC, ANC data checksum, line number calculation, TRS and EDH packet generation, illegal code remapping, and internal flywheel for noise immune TRS generation.

· 20-bit / 10-bit CMOS parallel input data bus with 148.5MHz / 74.25MHz / 27MHz / 13.5MHz parallel digital input.

· Automatic standards detection and indication.

· 1.8V core power supply, 3.3V charge pump power supply, and 3.3V digital I/O supply.

· JTAG test interface and available in a Pb-free package with a small footprint (11mm x 11mm).
