DESCRIPTION

· The Nx556 and Sx556 devices contain two independent timing circuits, similar to the NA555, NE555, SA555, or SE555 types, in a single package. These circuits can operate in astable or monostable modes, controlled by external resistor-capacitor (RC) timing. The timing is actively adjusted by modulating the bias of the control-voltage input. Each timer has trigger and threshold levels at approximately one-third and two-thirds of the supply voltage, respectively, which can be modified using the control voltage pin (CONT). The reset input (RESET) can override other inputs to initiate a new timing cycle. Unused inputs should be tied to an appropriate logic level to avoid false triggering.
