DESCRIPTION

· The MAX4990 is a high-voltage DC-AC converter designed for driving electroluminescent (EL) lamps.
· It operates with a wide input voltage range of +2.4V to +5.5V, compatible with various power sources like single-cell Li+ batteries.
· The device can generate up to 250V peak-to-peak output voltage for maximum lamp brightness.
· It features an inductor-based boost converter and a high-voltage full-bridge output stage for efficient EL lamp driving.
· Includes a proprietary acoustic noise-reduction circuit and a dimming control for adjustable EL output voltage.
· Available in a compact 14-pin TDFN package, operating from -40°C to +85°C.
