DESCRIPTION

· The MAX5900/MAX5901 are SOT23/TDFN hot-swap controllers designed for safe hot-plugging of circuit cards into live backplanes.

· They operate from -9V to -100V and require only an external n-channel MOSFET, eliminating the need for additional components.

· These devices limit inrush current and provide overcurrent protection through a circuit-breaker function.

· They feature an undervoltage lockout (UVLO), ON/OFF control input, and a power-good status output.

· Built-in thermal shutdown protects the external MOSFET from overheating.

· Available in SOT23 and TDFN packages, they support a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
