DESCRIPTION

· The MAX9291/MAX9293 GMSL serializers convert HDMI input to GMSL output for video, audio, and control signal transmission over 15m or more of 50Ω coax or 100Ω STP cable.

· The MAX9293 includes HDCP content protection, while the MAX9291 does not.

· These serializers are compatible with any GMSL deserializer and support programmable output amplitude.

· They feature an embedded control channel for programming and managing HDCP operations.

· The core supply is 1.8V and 3.3V, with I/O supply ranging from 1.7V to 3.6V.

FEATURES

· HDMI 1.4a input with integrated input equalizer, DDC, and input termination.

· Supports 1920 x 720p/60Hz display with 24-bit color and up to 192kHz sample rate for 7.1 channel HD audio.

· Programmable pre/deemphasis for long cable use and spread spectrum to reduce EMI.

· Built-in PRBS generator for BER testing and meets ISO 10605 and IEC 61000-4-2 ESD standards.

· Operates in temperatures from -40°C to +105°C with robust ESD protection.
