DESCRIPTION

· The MC33186 is a monolithic H-Bridge driver designed for fractional horsepower DC-motor and bi-directional thrust solenoid control.
· It features internal control logic, charge pump, gate drive, and low RDS(ON) MOSFET output circuitry.
· Capable of controlling continuous inductive DC load currents up to 5.0 A and supports PWM frequencies up to 10 kHz.
· Operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and voltage range of 5.0 V to 28 V, with derating up to 40 V.
· Available in a surface mount power package with an exposed pad for heat sinking.

FEATURES

· Integrated protection features include overtemperature, short-circuit, and overvoltage protection up to 40 V.
· Low RDSON of 150 mΩ per output transistor at 25°C.
· Continuous DC load current of 5.0 A with TC < 100°C.
· Output current limitation typically at 6.5 A ±20%, with short-circuit shutdown for currents over 8.0 A.
· TTL/CMOS compatible logic inputs, operating frequency up to 20 kHz, and undervoltage disable function.
· Diagnostic output, two disable inputs, and coding input for alternative functions.
· Requires a minimum external capacitance of 47 µF at VBAT for stable operation.
