DESCRIPTION
· The MC33771B is a SMARTMOS lithium-ion battery cell controller IC designed for automotive and industrial applications.
· It performs ADC conversions of differential cell voltages, current, coulomb counting, and temperature measurements.
· Data is transmitted via SPI or Transformer Isolation (TPL) to a microcontroller for processing.
FEATURES
· Operates from 9.6 V to 63 V with 75 V transient tolerance.
· Manages 7 to 14 cells with 0.8 mV maximum voltage measurement error.
· Supports 2.0 Mbps differential communication or 4.0 Mbps SPI.
· Includes synchronized cell voltage/current measurement and coulomb counting.
· Features seven GPIO/temperature sensor inputs and 5.0 V reference supply output.
· Integrated sleep mode monitoring and 300 mA passive cell balancing with diagnostics.
· Capable of detecting internal and external faults like open lines, shorts, and leakages.
· Compliant with ISO 26262, up to ASIL D, and AEC-Q100 qualified.
