DESCRIPTION
· The MC33879 is an 8-output configurable high-side/low-side switch with 16-bit SPI control.
· It utilizes SMARTMOS technology, combining CMOS logic, bipolar/MOS analog circuitry, and DMOS power MOSFETs.
· Designed for controlling inductive, incandescent, and LED loads, it interfaces directly with microcontrollers.
· Features include low standby currents, cascade fault reporting, and robust protection mechanisms.
FEATURES
· Operates at 5.5 V to 27.5 V with 16-bit SPI for control and fault reporting.
· Outputs current limited between 0.6 A to 1.2 A, suitable for incandescent lamps.
· Includes voltage clamps: +45 V for low side and –20 V for high side during inductive switching.
· Offers internal reverse battery protection and ensures no load energization or IC damage upon loss of ground or supply.
· Features short-circuit detection, current limit with automatic retry, and independent overtemperature protection.
