Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The MC34674 is a fully integrated single-cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery charger designed for travel charger applications.

· It supports high input voltage up to 28V, enabling the use of low-cost AC/DC converters.

· The charger operates in trickle, constant-current (CC), and constant-voltage (CV) modes, with a selectable CC current from 50mA to 1.05A and a fixed CV output of 4.2V.

· It includes features like trickle charging, internal timer, thermal foldback, and smart battery connection verification.

· The device is housed in a small 8-lead 2X3 UDFN package.



FEATURES

· No external MOSFET, reverse-blocking diode, or current-sense resistor required.

· Maximum input voltage rating of 28V with 11V over-voltage protection.

· Factory programmable charge current and ±0.4% voltage accuracy over -20°C to 70°C.

· Supports dual-color LED for charge-status indication and NTC thermistor interface.

· Internal timer and thermal current limit for enhanced safety.

· Pb-free packaging with suffix code EP.
