DESCRIPTION

· The MCP98242 is a digital temperature sensor with an integrated 256 Byte EEPROM, designed for DIMM modules and compliant with JEDEC Specification JC42.4.
· It converts temperatures from -40°C to +125°C into a digital word, offering high accuracy (±0.5°C/±1°C typical/maximum) from +75°C to +95°C.
· Features user-programmable registers for flexible temperature sensing, including shutdown/low-power modes and temperature event boundaries.
· The EEPROM is tailored for DRAM DIMMs Serial Presence Detect (SPD), with write-protection options for the lower 128 bytes and general-purpose storage in the upper 128 bytes.
· Utilizes a 2-wire I²C/SMBus interface, supporting up to eight devices on a single bus, with an operating voltage of 3.0V to 3.6V.
