DESCRIPTION

· The PCA9515A is a CMOS integrated circuit designed for I2C-bus and SMBus systems, enabling bus extension by buffering SDA and SCL lines.

· It supports two buses of 400 pF, allowing more devices or longer bus lengths by isolating bus segments.

· It facilitates operation of two buses at different voltages (5 V and 3.3 V) or frequencies (400 kHz and 100 kHz).

· The device prevents lock-up conditions by using slightly different low voltage levels for input and output.

· It cannot be used in series with other PCA9515A devices or certain other PCA951x series devices.

FEATURES

· 2-channel, bidirectional buffer compatible with I2C-bus and SMBus.

· Active HIGH repeater enable input and open-drain input/outputs.

· Lock-up free operation with support for arbitration and clock stretching.

· Accommodates Standard-mode and Fast-mode I2C-bus devices and multiple masters.

· Operating supply voltage range of 2.3 V to 3.6 V with 5.5 V tolerant I2C-bus and enable pins.
