DESCRIPTION

· The PCA9522 is a monolithic bipolar IC designed for bus buffering in I2C-bus, SMBus, and similar applications.

· It features hot insertion logic for detecting stop and idle conditions, making it suitable for live insertion into backplanes.

· The buffer extends bus load limits by buffering both SCL and SDA lines.

· It is a drop-in replacement for the IES5502, with a reduced maximum bus voltage from 15 V to 10 V.

· The IC supports bus level translation between 1.8 V and 10 V, providing flexibility in interfacing systems of different technologies and operating speeds.
