DESCRIPTION

· Pericom Semiconductor's PI74FCT16245T and PI74FCT162245T are 16-bit bidirectional transceivers for asynchronous two-way communication between data buses.
· The direction control input pin (xDIR) determines the data flow direction.
· These devices can operate as two independent 8-bit transceivers or one 16-bit transceiver.
· The output enable (OE) input, when HIGH, disables both A and B ports by placing them in Hi-Z condition.
· PI74FCT16245T supports "live insertion" with power off disable outputs.
· PI74FCT162245T has ±24mA balanced output drivers with current limiting resistors to control output edge rate, reducing ground bounce and undershoot.

· PI74FCT16245T: High output drive (IOH = –32mA; IOL = 64mA), power off disable outputs, typical V OLP < 1.0V at VCC = 5V, TA = 25°C.
· PI74FCT162245T: Balanced output drivers (±24mA), reduced system switching noise, typical V OLP < 0.6V at VCC = 5V, TA = 25°C.
