· The PT8A977B and PT8A978B/978BL provide complete control functions for remote-controlled toys.
· PT8A977B encodes five function inputs to digital codes for wireless and infra-red applications.
· PT8A978B/978BL decodes received signals to control five corresponding actions in the toy.
· Both chips feature internal oscillators adjustable with an external resistor.

· PT8A977B acts as an encoder; PT8A978B/978BL as a decoder.
· Five pins for five control functions.
· Operating voltage: 1.8V to 5.0V (977B), 2.0V to 5.0V (978BL), 2.5V to 5.0V (978B).
· Auto-power-off and oscillation-off when inactive (977B).
· Wake-up on any button press (977B).
· One output pin for external power control (977B).
· On-chip oscillator and reversing amplifiers.
