DESCRIPTION

The Si824x isolated driver family from Skyworks Solutions integrates two isolated drivers in a single package, designed for high-power audio applications exceeding 30 W. The Si8241 and Si8244 models offer peak output currents of 0.5 A and 4.0 A, respectively, and operate with a maximum supply voltage of 24 V. Utilizing proprietary isolation technology, these drivers provide input-to-output and output-to-output isolation, facilitating signal level translation without additional external circuits and supporting bipolar supply voltages up to ±750 V. The drivers include an integrated dead-time generator for precise control to optimize THD, overlap protection to prevent shoot-through current damage, and a CMOS-based design that ensures immunity from latch-up and high-voltage transients. They support fast modulation frequencies due to low propagation delays and are available in narrow body SOIC packages.
