DESCRIPTION

· The Si858x series integrates robust, fully compliant RS-485 transceivers with signal isolation, ideal for industrial automation requiring isolated interfaces for FieldBus systems.

· Designed for isolating nodes on RS-485 based FieldBuses like ProfiBus or ModBus, protecting against electrical noise transients in harsh or sensitive environments.

· Operates with 3.3 V or 5.0 V power supply, offering robust bus fault tolerance up to ±30 V and bus pin protection up to 15 kV HBM ESD.

· Features Skyworks' proprietary silicon isolation technology, supporting up to 5 kV RMS isolation voltage per UL1577, with high CMTI (>100 kV/µs), low propagation delays, and tight part-to-part matching.

FEATURES

· Compliant with TIA/EIA-485-A (RS-485) and compatible with EN 50170 (ProfiBus).

· Supports signaling rates up to 10 Mbps and common mode voltage from –7 V to +12 V.

· Offers bus fault protection up to ±30 V and thermal shutdown protection.

· VDD1: 3.0 V to 5.5 V; VDD2: 3.3 V or 5.0 V options.

· 17 ns typical driver propagation delay and supports up to 256 transceivers.
