DESCRIPTION

· The Si858x series integrates robust, fully compliant RS-485 transceivers with signal isolation, ideal for industrial automation requiring isolated interfaces in FieldBus systems.

· Designed for isolating nodes in RS-485 standard FieldBuses like ProfiBus or ModBus, protecting against electrical noise in harsh or sensitive environments.

· Operates with 3.3 V or 5.0 V power supply, featuring bus fault tolerance up to ±30 V and bus pins protected up to 15 kV HBM ESD.

· Offers half and full duplex modes, with options for reduced EMI profile or high data rates up to 10 Mbps, and includes safety features like receiver fail-safe and thermal protection.

· Utilizes Skyworks' silicon isolation technology, supporting up to 5 kV RMS isolation voltage, high CMTI (>100 kV/µs), low propagation delays, and tight part-to-part matching.

FEATURES

· Compliant with TIA/EIA-485-A (RS-485) and EN 50170 (ProfiBus), with industry standard footprint and logic operation.

· Supports signaling rates up to 10 Mbps, with HBM 15 kV bus pin ESD ratings and common mode voltage range of –7 V to +12 V.

· Features bus fault protection up to ±30 V, thermal shutdown protection, and operates with VDD1: 3.0 V to 5.5 V and VDD2: 3.3 V or 5.0 V.
