DESCRIPTION

· The TDA9955HL is a triple 8-bit video converter interface.

· Converts RGB analog to RGB/YUV digital or YUV analog to YUV/RGB digital with up to 170 MHz sampling rate.

· Supports TV resolutions from 480i to HDTV (up to 1920x1080p) and PC resolutions from VGA to UXGA.

· YUV digital output supports 4:4:4, 4:2:2 ITU-R BT.656, or semi-planar ITU-R BT.601 standards.

· All settings are controlled via the I2C-bus.



FEATURES

· Triple 8-bit ADC with three independent analog video sources up to 170 MHz.

· Integrated analog composite sync slicer and recognition.

· Frame and field detection for interlaced video signals.

· Video input range: 0.45V to 0.9V (p-p) for full-scale ADC input of 1.0V (p-p).

· Three clamps for programming 8-bit clamping code from 0 to +191 in steps of 1 LSB.

· Three video amplifiers controlled via I2C-bus with 100 MHz bandwidth.

· Low gain variation with temperature.

· I2C-bus controlled PLL for ADC, formatter, and output clocks, lockable from 15 kHz to 95 kHz.

· Integrated PLL divider and programmable clock phase adjustment.

· Matrix and offsets for RGB/YUV conversion.

· Output formats: RGB 4:4:4, YUV 4:4:4, YUV 4:2:2 ITU-R BT.656, or YUV 4:2:2 semi-planar.

· Integrated downsampling-by-two with selectable filters on Cb and Cr channels in 4:2:2 mode.

· I2C-bus control, 5V tolerant, bit rate up to 400 kbit/s.
